Credentials Unlimited is enhancing the micro-credential review process. By adopting a universal standard of quality, we recently completed a self-assessment using the Quality Assurance Rubric developed by the Micro-Credential Partnership of States. This rubric, created by 39 experts and practitioners from various state and national partner organizations, evaluates micro-credentials across 12 quality assurance standards and 29 components. Through alignment with these standards, Credentials Unlimited is setting a higher bar as a trusted issuer of micro-credentials.

Our Enhanced Micro-Credential Three Part Review Process:

  • 1 Standards Alignment Review: A licensed educator will review the course to ensure alignment with relative standards, such as the Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading (KPS 2018). These standards will be documented on the non-credit transcript accompanying each micro-credential.
  • 2 Course Evaluation: Using an evaluation tool aligned to standards, our trained reviewers are assessing for evidence of objectives, assessments, instructional materials, activities, technology, and usability. As the course creator, you will receive a review of the evaluation’s finding and suggestions for improving the course content.
  • 3 Adherence to Micro-Credential Standards: We ensure that your course adheres to the highest micro-credential standards using the Micro-Credential Quality Assurance Standards and Self-Assessment Rubric Tool. The final review guarantees that the micro-credential meets universal quality criteria, enhancing its value and portability for educators nationwide.
